You may not be aware but there is a range of pellet mill designs. The most common design used in large-scale pellet plants is the rind die, however there are very few small pellet mill machines that use this design. The reasons behind this are quite straightforward, the costs of importing cheap flat die pellet mills from china is significantly less than developing a small ring die pellet mill. However we need these small ring presses to replicate the process seen in large-scale production. Small pellet mills are used for experimenting and testing. However if the test does not replicate what will happen in the pellet plant, the results are meaning less. There is a mini pellet mill made in the UK that replicates the production process seen in pellet plants, however as stated this machine is one of the exceptions. Too many people opt for the low quality products that come out of china expecting each pellet mill to be pretty much the same.
